Apex
The Apex blade design is similar to Scallop Edge blade in terms of its concave wave profile. Apex has a straight grind, while the gullets of a Scallop Edge blade are individually ground. Standard Apex blades are produced from carbon steel and have a 1/2″ (12.7mm) pitch. Apex blades offer less penetration than Scallop Edge blades, however their penetration properties are much better than those of Knives or V-tooth blades.
When the price of Scallop is too high, Apex can be an excellent alternative.

- Single or double-sided sharpened edge
